My agency is purchasing laptops for some of our developers and I wanted to
get others input if you have the time.

I believe that working in the IDE the best physical screen size would be
17", anything below would not have enough screen area to comfortably work
in. What do you think?

Thanks for taking the time to chime in

In my opinion, if you want to do serious development and have reasonable
comfort, you will need at least 1280x1024, what can be achieved using most
of today's 17" LCDs. I personally am using 1680x1050 on a 20 inch LCD which
gives reasonably enough place for all the small VS panes :-)

Thanks for chiming in...exactly my thought!!!

i use 1400*1280 on a 15" laptop - that works fine but the more real estate
the better!

Kevin,

I work in 1024*768 on a 15" laptop screen and it is workable. At my desk
though, I'm on a 24" LCD and run it out to as much as I can get. I can
guarantee you that your developers will be more productive with more real
estate as I am able to produce more on the bigger screen, quicker.

Same as everyone else and of course, no surprise to you I'm sure!!!

Go big if you can!!!

I agree, thanks for the input!
