Optical Mouse keeps moving on its own

Hi.

Has anyone else every had problems with the mouse where it just suddenly shoots across the screen?

I think it is something to do with the mouse mat, but I cannot find any mouse mats that can prevent this from happening. When I use the mouse on the desk without a mat, it works fine.

Yep, if you've got a mat with a reflective surface the sensor gets confused and causes the problem you described. I don't use a mouse mat for that very reason
