Opinions: Epson C40S

I just purchased an Epson C40S printer, complete with 2 unopened black
cartridges, 1 CMY unopened cartridge, as well as 1 of each in the printer,
all for $12. Yes, $12. (A yard sale, obviously.)

I'm sure everyone is going to say "for $12, especially with 2 tanks of
unopened black ink, what a deal!" I'm sure. But I'm curious how good this
printer is REGARDLESS? I can't seem to find anything on it in Consumer
Reports or PCWorld.Com

I have a Canon S300 which received high ratings both in CU and PCWorld.Com,
but I despise all the whirring and grinding it does just warming up. I HATE
that!

Thoughts?

It is the most expensive Epson to run. It has the smallest ink tanks of the
Epson. It prints OK but I wouldn't make it my main printer.

You got a "bargain". Normally they sell for as much as $20-$30 used. :-)
