was wondering which version I should use: MSN or Google Toolbar.

TIA

Google by a longshot. Never have used MSN. Didn't need to.

On the other hand, if you have a hotmail or msn account, then msn toolbar is
the way to go.

I use the Google toolbar and am pleased with it. The main reason I use
this one is because at the time I was looking into these toolbars, it
was a hot item. You can customize the toolbar to show the buttons you
want and place it in unused spots of the main toolbar. You can probably
do that with any of them now, but I have grown accustomed to its
features and believe Google has a better search engine than MSN. Since
I have two different Yahoo! accounts I have considered using the Yahoo!
toolbar, but can't see any other feature that makes it better than the
Google one.

Why not use Mozilla, it blocks almost all pop ups including those used by
hotmail Etc. Hotmail still works though.

Or use a shell for IE like MyIE2: http://www.miranda-im.org/ with
popup-killer , tabbed browsing and the ability to type anything in the
addressbar to start a Googlesearch.

The Toolbar Download site is in IE-SPYAD and hpHOSTS file. So I will not
be trying it.

I use the Google Toolbar but pop ups come from several places so a layered
approach is necessary including disabling all Active scripting in IE.

You'll have fun trying to browse sites in IE with all Active Scripting
disabled! :) Better to use Firefox (www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/)
as your main browser, for these three main reasons:

(1) No popups while browsing!
(2) Faster than Internet Explorer.
(3) No security issues like Internet Explorer.

Just keep IE on the backburner for those ill-written sites that refuse to
load on anything other than IE (such as Microsoft Update).

I would never have admitted that. ;-)

LOL!

Have a great day!

I tried Opera TWICE and both times I could not completely deinstall it
when I wanted to junk the program. Both times AGAIN it turned all my
IE shortcuts into useless URL files that won't launch on click. Still
haven't solved that problem yet (inc TWEAK UI Rebuilds).

IE may not be the greatest but I am tired of having to fight problems
with competing browsers who act like miscreant children when I want
them to go away.

It's not like Google isn't up to their own set of tricks including
censorship.

But Opera isn't like Firefox or Mozilla. I use Mozilla and the Google
tool bar and I don't get any pop-ups unless I want them.

Can't repeat it enough: get Firefox and never look back.
