I am using Windows XP and everytime I try to obtain an IP, I get this message:
"Operation Was Attempted on Something That Is Not a Socket"
According to Microsoft, this will take care of it for Windows 2000.
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=318584
The problem with the resolution on that page is step 9. It is not possible
to uninstall this in Windows XP.
I did some further research and found that this command might work"
netsh int ip reset <filename>
This created the winsock2 registry key but not the winsock.
My question is, can I just export working versions of these keys from a
working computer and import them in? I don't know what else I can do to
alleviate this problem.
Thanks in advance.
