"Operation Failed" in Outlook 2002 on Send/Receive

Our company has 30+ machines still running Office XP (the other 150 or so
are running various newer versions, and do not exhibit this behaviour), and
about half of them started displaying the "Operation Failed" dialog box
whenever a Send/Receive is initiated. This does NOT apply to the initial
Send/Receive operation that occurs when Outlook starts.

The machines running Outlook XP that do NOT have this issue are the ones
upon which, a few weeks ago, our technician turned off automatic updates,
and forgot to re-enable them, so I'm fairly certain it's one of the myriad
updates released in the last three weeks causing the problem... any clue as
to which one this may be? - TIA

Is it happening on automatic send/receives or when you press F9 or the S/R
button?

If its happening with manual initiations find and delete the SRS file,

What OS is installed? AFAIK, there haven't been any updates for office xp so
if an update did it, it was a windows up.

That appeared to do the trick. Much obliged!
