i upgraded from Windows 2000 to windows XP and at start up i have to select
which operating system that i want to use How do I delete windows 2000 so I
can have just one operating system

Right click My Computer, select Properties, Advanced, Startup and Recovery, Settings. In the System Startup section click the Edit button. This opens BOOT.INI in Notepad. Remove the line that loads Win2K. If you're not sure of what you're deleting post the contents here for advice.

In XP right click on MyComputer.
Click Properties > Advanced tab > Settings button > Edit button.
Delete the line for W2K, do not remove any of the XP line.
On the Menu bar click File > Save and Exit out.
