At one time when I would click on a pdf file on a website it would open and
then continue downloading the file if it were a large pdf. But now it wants
to download the entire file before opening it. Is there an option for this;
and where is the change made?

Many thanks.

Another consideration is whether or not the file you are downloading is
compressed or not..

PDF files are opened with Adobe. What level of Adobe are you using?

Two different clarifications here:

1. Adobe is a company, not an application program. Adobe makes several
different programs. See http://www.adobe.com/products/ The product
you are referring to is presumably Adobe *Reader*.

2. Adobe Reader is only one of several different programs that can
open and read pdf files. Others are Foxit Reader, PDF Reader, eXPert
PDF Reader, etc. Others are listed here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PDF_software

Not using Acrobat Reader; using PDF-XChange Viewer.

It appears from the replies that the setting is in the viewer and not in
Internet Explorer.
I'll look around the Viewer.

Thanks gang.

Are you doing a virus scan on your downloads?
