Does anyone know of a way to open a link to a txt document in Notepad vs. IE
browser?

We are running XP SP2 and IE 6.

Hi Travis,

From Windows Explorer (Explorer.exe) select the Tools>Folder Options menu.
Select the File Types tab, scroll down and find the txt file type extension,
select it... It should show "Opens with Notepad" - If it does'nt click the
Change button and select Notepad from the list. (It is strange that it is
not pointing to Notepad... It could be that Notepad has been moved from the
Windows/System32 folder somehow).
Next click on the Advanced button and make sure that the 'open' command is
the default and that it is using Notepad.

Regards.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, these settings are there. If I download the
document to my desktop and double-click on it, it does open it in NotePad.
If I open it via the URL, it always opens in the browser.
