opening two windows

Can anyone tell me how you can simultaneously open two windows in the current version of Powerpoint. Older version you had a minimize, resize and close button for both powerpoint and the active file in the top right. My newer version just has those buttons for the program and only a close button for the file. Must be a simple option/preference thing but can't find it

Basically want to open two windows with thumbnails in each and move slides from one to the other easily. Can figure out other ways to do but since each one is a lecture, it's something I do often and easiest if I can figure it out

While I'm at it, anyone know how to default folders to detail view (for all office programs and for explorer also)

Thanks

Open both your presentations select the Slide Sorter View (thumbnails) for both
presentation, then from Window, select arrange all, this will put them side by
side in individual windows. then you can drag from one to the other

Open windows Explorer, click on view, and select detail

Open first file (A.ppt) in PowerPoint.
Click Open and navigate to next presentation (B.ppt ), open it.
Click Windows from the menu bar
Click Arrange All

Change views to slide sorter and you are able to do what you described.

For the folder info, I'd recommend starting here
