Opening the dvd disk door

My new Gateway has a vertical dvd drive which has a very slow/mushy
button to open it.
Is there a program that will just open the drive door?

Windows Explorer lets you do this by right clicking on D: but I wonder
if there's other software that does it.
 
In Windows Explorer, right-click on the drive's icon and select "Eject". You
can put its shortcut on the Desktop and do the same.
