Opening specific pipelines on R9800SE

Is there a way to open specific pipelines on this card in order to
bypass broken ones but still gain some performance? E.g. to have 6 or 7
good pipelines open. I have a Powercolor 9800SE AIW 256-bit, 128 MB
DDR, L-shaped PCB. Softmodding with Omega drivers, therefore opening
all 8 pipelines, produces checkerboard effect, which suggests some
broken pipelines.

Nope,there's not a way to do that. Pipelines are unlocked in quads so
you gain 4 at at time. If your SE has broken pps you're gonna have to
live with it.
