I am able to open email attachments that I receive from other people,
however, have just discovered that I am having problems when I attempt to
send one to someone that I create myself. It appears that the problem occurs
when I send an attachment that was created in Microsoft Works Word
Processor. Individuals then receive a message stating

Windows cannot open this file:
File: Resume.wps
To open this file, Windows needs to know what program created it. Windows
can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a
list of programs on your computer.
What do you want to do?
* Use the web service to find the appropriate program
* Select the program from a list

Does anyone know why this could be happening? Please advise and thank you
in advance!

If the recipient of your email attachment does not have Works or a program
that can open files created in Works, (.wps) then they will be unable to
open the file. You need to save the file into a more universal format, like
..txt (text file) which can be opened with the Notepad program that comes
with every version of Windows.
