opening programs from taskbar

older versions of windows allowed placement of shortcuts in the taskbar, so
you didn't have to go to Start to open a program. is this possible with XP,
and if so how?

hey bob. do you mean in the tool bar (right beside the start button) ?
Becuase the taskbar displays quick clicks to programs you have running
already. Well to put shortcuts in the tool bar just right click the taskbar
and go up to tool bar and click quick launch. A quick launch area with IE and
so on right by the start button. Just drag the programs you want in there and
there you have it. i hope this helped bob.
