I am running XP with Netscape 7.1
Everytime I try and open/view a .ppt file from a webserver by clickin
on the link to it, I get garbled text. I am not promted to download o
open. Any thoughts, ideas? Please help

Not much of a clue here, but it sounds as if the Netscape settings
aren't right. You might need to poke around for some Netscape help
documents... What do you have listed in Edit/Properties/Applications?
(or the equivalent in your version of Netscape)?

Do you have either the PPT Viewer or PPT itself installed?

I use Netscape 4.61 here (I know, I know. It's old.), and when I click a
link to a PPT file, I'm prompted with the "save or open" dialog box.

says, I'm not a guest there, nor have I ever posted from that board.)
