Hi Jim
Masters have changed a bit since '03 - now we get many layouts (the
sub-masters) that are based on the big 'mother' master. These layouts can
have their own backgrounds, fonts, elements etc but also contain any
elements on the 'mother' master. What catches me out a lot is that when I go
to the master view, PowerPoint always takes me to the layout master that the
slide is based on, not the 'mother' master so I'm unable to delete things
that are on the slide. The great advantage I have found (now we can create
our own layouts) is that I no longer need multiple masters, just multiple
layouts (though it took me a while to figure that one out). Does that make
sense?
So, can you select the logo on the 'mother' master? If not, could it be part
of an image that is being used as a fill? As for footers, have you checked
the footer dialogue box (insert tab)?
If you are still having problems, feel free to send me a slide or two:

Hi, Lucy!!
In this presentation that we made some time back, if, in PP-2007, you look
at the master slide, in the left hand thumbnail pane, there is a master
slide
type tree. Under the main master there are several sub masters that have
various elements on them. I can access these slides, but I cannot for the
life of me get to where we placed an old logo and name in what appears to
be
the footer. In looking everywhere, I can't find this. And, there is also
one
graphic element that I can't find either.
Hope this info helps.
Jim
