Opening Photos from Floppies

I have photos stored on floppies. When I go to My Cumputer, 3 1/2" (A:), Explore, right-click on a photo file, and select Open, a window comes up asking me to chose a Program to use to open it. I select Windows Picture and Fax Viewer - which works fine. There is, in this same "Open with.." window, a small "check box" with the notation "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file." I'd like to check that box, for convenience, so I don't have to go through the same Open with...steps for each photo on the floppy, but both the "check box" and its discription are shown in faint gray (i.e. disabled or inactive). How do I activate this option?

Thanks,

Dale O

Try this:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.
