Opening Paradox files in Access 2000

This is very elementary
I have a paradox file eg ADDSTYLE.DB
I want to open it in Windows Vista using Access 2007 in the Access 2000 file
format.
I get the option of adding Paradox files in Access but I always get an error
message such as "External
table not in expected format".
I know my colleague opens the db files fine on his computer.
Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated??
