Opening Outlook Express

S

Sherman

When I try to open Outlook Express I get an error message
stating MSOE.dll cannot be initialized. I have
downloaded the latest Outlook Express patch (SP1) with no
success. All the references to this problem in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base refer to Windows versions up to
Millenium. I have XP installed.

Any suggestions?

Thx.

Someone else seems to have the same problem (in July) perhaps you could send
him an email and see if he fixed it?

This page has a possible solution

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=245419

but it depends on which version of OE you are running and as you say it may
not apply to WinXP. The fix requires you to edit the registry which can
cause big problems if you get it wrong. At the very least you need to back
up everything first (I would recommend making a full drive image backup).
