Opening mdw from Browser

A2003, XP Pro SP2.

Here's one I thought I knew the answer to - should you be able to open an
mdw file from a browser window? I thought the answer should be 'no' but
I've just tried it and I can. It says "Access 97 File Format" in the db
window. Have recently migrated from 97 to 2k3 should I have converted my
mdw's too rather than use them "as is"?

Many thanks.
Keith.

Sure, it's just a database and as long as Access is the associated program
it'll open it.

Others have reported no problems using the 97 format mdw with later
versions. If you are more comfortable having them in 2003 format, I suggest
you recreate the mdw in 2003 using all the same names/PIDs rather than
converting them via the convert menu.
