Opening mdb file causes Jed engine error

Hi all,
opening an Access2000 database causes the error: "The
Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the
object 'Databases'. Make sure the object exists and that
you spell its name and the path name correctly. (Error
3011)".
An older version of this file works fine. Could anybody
help in recovering this db?

make a copy of the offending database and try to compact and repair that
copy using jetComp.exe found at:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;273956&Product=acc

IF that doesn't work, create a new database and try to import all of the
objects from the copy into the new one.

Let us know how it comes out...

Thanks for your hints, but it seems that none of them
worked fine.
Both jetComp.exe and importing in a new db produce an
error.
JetComp says "Error compacting database".
Importing data returns the same error I get opening the
file.
Any other ideas?
