Am new to 2002, as it came with new computer. Previously used Word
97, I think. When I wanted to retrieve an file in older version a
window would open at the "open" command and after typing in all or
part of a file name a list would be presented from which to select the
file you were looking for. This version does not appear to do this.
What am I doing wrong?

As I did not wish to download about 13,000 files, I would really
appreciate all reposes to also go to my email address.

Thanks

Use a wildcard character in the filename box eg *fred* to give you all
filenames with fred.
