Hi all,

I've got following problem:
I have two computer configurations:
First - Win XP, IE 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2
Second - Win 2000, IE 6.0.2600.0000

I want open MS Word document stored in local disk embedded
in IE. When I type "file://C:\test.doc" in the address of
IE, on first configuration the file is opened in
standalone MS Word. On the second configuration the file
is opened in embedded MS Word in IE.
Both computers have the "Browse in same window option
enabled".
I cannot find which settings or registry key should I
modify on configuration one to get the behaviour of
configuration two.

This is general question, because the following behaviour
is also for other applications, not only for MS Word.
Please advice...

Look at this article for some clues.

Office Documents Open in Internet Explorer
When you click a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) link to a Microsoft Office
file (such as a Microsoft Excel document), Internet Explorer may open the
file in Internet Explorer, instead of opening the file in the appropriate
Office program.
