I'm trying to open a site live from the internet - and have just gone to the
site and clicked on 'edit' with FP - it opens the page I'm on, but when I
try to save it there aren't any folder lists or anything saved - how can I
open one of my sites live and have all the info as if I was making it a new
site?

thanks

how do you password protect your websites so that someone else can't open
your site - or is this just an automatic feature?

Pam:
Anyone can open pages in your site with FP or other editors, but no one
should be able to save any changes back to your site unless they know the
username and password. If you find that they can, you need to switch web
hosts immediately.

thanks - that's what I was wondering - any chance you can answer my question
on adding an interactive database to my site? Here's my question:

I have a customer that I've designed a webpage for that would like to
put in a section where members could look up the points that they have
earned in various classes - this section would need to be able to be
accessed for INPUT by me ... and by the owner of the site - the members
would receive a password and then be able to find the info....

can someone point me in the right direction on how to do this? is there a
specific program that would be good for this - or does fp2002 have anything
in it that would be a breeze to implement?

if anyone is familiar with AQHA site and how members access the records
section - this is pretty much what they want.

thanks
Pam

Pam:
If your site is hosted on a Windows server that supports ASP and Access
databases, and they also support subwebs, you could create a subweb with the
FrontPage Database Interface Wizard. The DBIW creates pages that let you (or
your users) update and query the database. You would also want to have the
subweb password protected.

cool! I'll see if I can figure that out - I know my server supports
asp/access and subwebs...so hopefully I can figure out how to create the
database! that would be ideal if this works!!!

thanks!
