everytime i log on and open up internet explorer, 3-4
little dialog boxes from microsoft antispyware appear in
the lower right hand corner. They are always the same
message about startup items. How do you fix this?

My notebok alway have a message and pop out (cookies) even
i scan with the anti spyware program. The home page always
change the websit I did not selected...any helps. Message
from windows warning me on risk that someone is trying to
get info from my email etc...HOW TO KILL THIS COOKIES????

This sounds as though you still have spyware in place, and most likely as a
BHO--browser helper object.

If you go to Tools, advanced tools, System Explorers, and examine IE Bho's
what do you see--in particular, are there unknown ones whose publisher you
don't recognize? Consider blocking such objects to see whether this fixes
these popups.

Hi Bill,

Generally disabling BHOs won't work, because the nanny/monitor software will
note the disabling and simply create another process to replace the one that
has been locked down :o(

Thanks, Sandi.

Then one needs to get a name for the critter, and research all the parts to
know what to kill, assuming this is something that Microsoft Antispyware
doesn't identify?

I don't think there's any one product that can identify everything in this
brave new world of self-aware, random naming malware. Simply removing
active files simply won't work for the worst malware. You have to track
down the hidden processes as well.
