Opening hyperlinks to Excel spreadsheets

A hyperlink to an Excel Spreadsheet opens in a browser on one PC and opens to Excel on 2nd PC Why? We are using Internet Explorer 6. The same spreadsheet opens differently on different machines - I don't see anything in my browser settings to answer this one. Thanks
 
More than likely, on the one machine where it opens
directly to EXCEL, the user unchecked the "Always ask
before opening a file of this type" box when you click on
the file.

Thanks for your help, Rawley. It turned out to be a setting under "My Computer","Tools" - found an article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base - it's Article number 162059.
