I would like to be able to get to the general templates
screen from File - New, instead of having to go select
General Templates under New from template task bar in
WordXP. This was how Word functioned in Word2000. Any
assistance would be much appreciated.

Open Tools | Customize and look for FileNewDialog under All Commands on the
Commands tab. Drag it to your File menu and drag the existing New... off.

That worked just perfectly. Thank you!

.

You can download an Add-In that will give you this ability (without losing
the ability to use the Task Pane) from
http://addbalance.com/word/download.htm.
It is under Add-Ins.

Is there a way to open the window in one of the other tabs (not the general
tab)?

Possibly with VBA or SendKeys. You'll have to hope for an answer from
someone who knows about such stuff.

Charles,

I downloaded your add-in that brings up the Templates with File/New. I have
created folders below the default template folder to hold certain templates.
What I am trying to do is open the template window in one of the sub folders
instead of opening in the general templates and having to click on the tab
for that sub-folder.
