To open any folders on XP, I cannot double click as the top option is "Search." I have to right-click and select open as the second option. Is there any way to fix this problem. I have gotten used to it, but it is really annoying. I have searched all of the groups and could not find any reference to this anywhere. Thanks for any help.

Doug's link, below. Click on XP-FIXES, then look for your topic in the
righthand column.

Found the right file, but after downloading I went to open the fix and got the following message from Norton "Alert: Malicious Script." I have had too many problems with viruses in the past, so didn't open this. Is tis normal?

This one is okay. Norton is just being cautious. ^_^

Thanks for the help. I am super cautious about downloading anything. This computer is my livelihood. I work at home and am self-employed and when the compter is down, I lose money. Of course, with a slight hint of obsessive-compulsive, I also have two computers to back up this one. Thanks again.

You are wise.

If you haven't already, consider imaging the partition - prior to
installing new software or making changes. Then, if something goes awry,
or you simply decide not to use the new software, and don't want traces of
it, restore the image.

There are many such utilities. Here are three that are popular...
