Opening folders and files

Hi, My name is Bill Ayotte (Dr. Bill). I am using XP Pro. When I click on
a folder or file icon, I get the (search for) display instead of opening the
folder or file. What can I do to just click on the icon and have it opened
in the standard way?

click on
