On my laptop I use webmail. whether on the internet or on my webmail, if I
try to open a file attachment whether document or photo, it defaults to save
instead of just opening the file like I want too. I would like to default to
view or open and then pick to save it to my computer if I need to.

Since you're using Webmail, that would be a function of the server where
your webmail is stored, not XP. Check the Help there. Then, from
Webmail, you'd have to have it relayed on to your OE address to save it
on your own machine. Otherwise it'll save on the WEbmail system.
You do know that Webmail means reading your mail with a browser, not
an email client, right?
