opening fax documents

How does one read a fax received. I have used the tab
with the eyeglasses on the task bar in the fax console
and the fax opens in my Kodak shareware program. If the
fax has multiple pages I cannot view beyond the cover
page. Is there another resident program, i.e works or
wordperfect10 that would allow me to view all pages? If
so How do I access that program so that faxes received
don't go to the Kodak software?

Neither Works nor WP10 are 'resident' as that implies they were installed
with the OS - they weren't. Your system builder may have chosen to include
them, however. IIRC faxes are TIFF files, so you require an application that
will read them. Doesn't the fax console offer the ability to read incoming
faxes? TIFF is just a graphics format so, in theory, you could use a
graphics application (not Paint, though!).
 
To view faxes from the Fax Console in Windows Imaging and Fax viewer, make
this your default viewer for TIF files. You can easily restore that setting
in Windows Explorer > Folder Options. File Types. For most users the command
line should read:

"rundll32.exe <drive>:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1"

If you double click on a received fax, it normally opens it using Microsoft
Picture and Fax Viewer. It seems that installing Kodak shareware program has
reset the default viewer.
You could try setting the viewer for .tiff files( faxes) to Microsoft
Picture and Fax Viewer.
You can do so using Tools->Folder Options->File Types in the explorer.
Check the Opens With program for .tiff Files and set it to Microsoft Picture
and Fax viewer.
