If Explorer is set to 'remember each folder's view', closing a folder when its window is maximized
will cause it to open maximized the next time.
If you want maximized explorer windows the first time a folder is opened, you can do the following:
Create one of the following keys -- an HKLM entry will affect all users, an HKCU entry will only
affect that particular user, however, the HKCU entry will be vulnerable to deletion by the 'Apply to
All Folders' and 'Reset All Folders' actions.
"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell"
or
"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags\AllFolders\Shell"
with the following values:
"WFlags"=dword:00000002
"ShowCmd"=dword:00000003
"WinPos1024x768(1).left"=dword:00000001
"WinPos1024x768(1).top"=dword:00000001
"WinPos1024x768(1).right"=dword:00000150
"WinPos1024x768(1).bottom"=dword:00000100
The 'WinPos....' value names will vary according to your video settings, the values determine the
position of the window when you restore from maximized or minimized -- check one of the numbered
subkeys of:
"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags"
for values appropriate for your computer.
Don't know a trick for OE messages, but you can drag one to a larger size before closing & that
should be remembered.

When I open the Explorer program it opens in a reduced mode, how do I change it to open in the
maximized window.
Also when I open a message in Outlook express it opens in a reduced mode as well. How do I get it to
open in the maximized window.
Thanks........
