opening email attachments

Have a 2000 Professional PC. Last week I went to windows
update and downloaded the latest critical updates. Since
that time i cannot open attachments...get a message"OE
removed access to unsafe attachments in your mail" how
can I correct this?
 
(e-mail address removed) says... while attaching C4 explosives to
computer and foaming at the mouth!

Open OE....Go to "Tools" (top) "Options" Click the "Security" tab.

See if "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could
potentially be a virus" is checked......If it is, uncheck it.
