Opening Desktop Shortcuts

Suddenly my IE 6.1 Desk top shortcuts open completely minimized. I have to
drag the web pages open to a readable size. Then all the shortcuts open
properly. But, maybe a day later, the problem reoccurs!

Should I run the repair tool or what?

Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.
