Opening all documents in folder

When I start excel it opens all documents who are not in a folder on my My
Documents drive on D. I have managed to stop it by moving all of them into a
"various" folder. Any suggestions? Does not appear when opening word.

There is a setting in Excel's options that controls this: Tools, options,
General tab. Empty the inputbox called "At startup, open all files in:" (or for
XL 2000 and earlier "Alternate startup file location" or something similar).
