opening access 97 database in access 2000

I have an aplication that uses access 97 database tables. Is there a way to
open them and modify them in access 2000 without converting them? The
application will not read a 2000 database.
 
No, you can't modify without converting. However, you can convert up modify
the tables and convert back down. Be aware there may be problems when your
97 users open the converted down database.
