Opening a second browser

Everytime I try to open a second browser by going to File, New, Window, it
always reopen the same URL but in the same browser, whereas it used to open a
second browser with the same URL. What do I have to do to fix this?

I don't think you're ever going to open a second instance of the browser if
you mean IE that way. Why not go to run>iexplore.exe or
Taskman>Applications>new (same thing) and on process tab you'll see an
additional instance of the browser.

Ctrl+N doesn't open another browser it opens another duplicate window.

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".

Also, if you have Yahoo Companion, Google toolbar, MSN toolbar, a firewall,
Earthlink (or another pop-up blocker) My IE2 (a shell for IE) etc.
Yahoo Companion is a very common cause.

You'll have to turn off the feature that's blocking new windows or, perhaps,
uninstall the program (especially uninstall Yahoo Companion).

With some programs of this type, using Ctrl+click or Shift+click will allow
a new window.

It was the Yahoo Companion which was installed automatically with the latest
version of Adobe Reader. Thanks a lot for your help!
 
When you install Acrobat Reader, you're presented with the *option* to
install Yahoo Companion. Apparently you chose to do so.
