opening a .ps file

How can I need to open a downloaded .ps file? I tried
renaming it as a pd.pdf but Acrobat woudln't read it.

I have Windows 2000 with the usual applicaitons.

and download AFPL Ghostscript 8.00 and GSview 4.4.


For your information, PS files are used a lot with Linux.
