Working Windows XP Home, I have an e-mail attachment in
a ".pcx" format which flags "no association". "Paint"
doesn't want to know; "Notepad" gives me a weird string;
and others don't do anything. Can you help?

Please note in any reply that my computer literacy
registers only slightly above dyslexic.

You might try downloading and installing Irfanview at irfanview.com. It a
great free graphics viewer and can open .pcx files.

Go ahead and research this, but better to send an email back to the
person who sent this to you and as that they send it to you in a format
that you can read. Your IE browser can probably read JPEG or GIF
format. Paint can read bitmap format.

Many thanks. Problem now solved. Several helpful
responses within an hour that early on a Sundat morning
speaks well of the Internet community.

Again many thanks.
