Opening a form posted to a Public folder

I have created a form using the "post" template which posts to a public
folder.I am not sure what I am doing wrong but even though I have
managed the form and associated it with the public folder, when I send
it to the folder and then open it from that folder it does not use the
right form but rather the default post form. What do I need to do to
make it open with the form it was originally sent with?

What do you mean by "send it to the folder"? Did you create a form with separate compose and read layouts?

Yes, it appears that I have separate read and compose pages. Do I need
to edit the read page so that it is identical to the compose page or is
there a checkbox or something that I can tick to tell the form to make
them identical?
