I know how to run an application. what I can not figure out is once the application (Word) is open, how do I get my file to come up automaticaly. I want my employees to be able to click a button and have the report show up. The report information is scanned in so its like a picture. I can open it through word or a pict file. I want to be able to link my report to where I have the file saved on my hard drive. Any advice or suggestions will be very helpfull. Thanks in advance!!

Mark:

Is the scan image already in a Word document or are you placing it in a
documenet using "Insert -> Picture" etc. If the image is being inserted at
run time then you'll need to use Word VBA to do that. Word's object model
can sometimes be a little obtuse in terms of finding specific commands
quickly, but it can be done. Rather than posting this in this NG, I'd
recommend that you post in news://news.microsoft.public.word.vba.general.
With the request for code to insert a picture into a document. Once you
have that then you can build your automation procedure.
