How can I open an empty Select Query window in MS Access 2002?
What Im doing now is opening a query in design view, and then change it to
SQL view. But that's dangerous because I may change an existing query, among
other things.

Thanks,
VM

When you have the Queries Container active, use the Menu Insert / Query or
you can click the "New" button near the top left of the container.
Alternatively, you can double-click the "Create query in Design view" in the
"Items" pane (RHS) of the Queries Container.

See also Access Help / your Access book(s) on how to create a new Query.

Thanks. That's basically what I wanted.

Do you know if there's a key combination that will switch between datasheet
view, sql view, and design view? Or do I have to use the mouse for that?
Also, is there a key/key combo to execute a query (like sql server's F5)?

Thanks again.
