Opening 97 PowerPoint in PowerPoint2002

I have a file in PowerPoint97 that opens fine on Windows
98 and most Windows 2000. I have the Windows 2000
Professional with PowerPoint2002 (XP Version)
I cannot open the older version PowerPoint.
 
PowerPoint versions:
97, 2000, 2002 (aka XP), 2003

Windows versions:
98, 2000, 2000 Professional, and XP


A PowerPoint file created in PowerPoint 97 should open in PowerPoint 2002
(aka XP) regardless of the Operating System. What error is it giving you
when you try to open the file?
