OPENFILENAME A P I. User cancels ?

How can I take an action (Example: Display a measssge box ), if the user
clicks Cancel in the Open Dialog.

I got this API to work, but I know very little about how to manipulate it.
Some sample code and an indication of where to place ithe code would be very
appreciated.

As is stands now, when the user clicks cancel, the return value is the first
file in My Documents. I would like have it return nothing if the user clicks
cancel, then display a message box.

You will find things much simpler if you use Excel's GetOpenFileName method:

The variable FName will be a Boolean False if no file was selected (user
cancels) or a String containing the fully qualified file name if the user
selectes a file. Note that GetOpenFilename does *not* actually open the
file -- it simply returns the name of the selected file.
