This is soooo weird....and this never happened before. Okay well i wanted to
see why my speed wasn't increasing from my sd card from readyboost and went
into (E:) to check and double clicked readyboost and it asked me what to open
it with....what do i do? I am so confused at what happened and why it didn't
make my laptop faster. My sd card is 512mb, capacity of 485mb, and is using
480 mb for readyboost.

Thanks for your help!!!!

One of the updates that Microsoft published today is for SD cards. Make
sure you've got it (via automatic updates), then try it again.

The ReadyBoost.sfcache file is a cache file and does not contain any useful
information that would make sense to you even if you could open it. It would
look like a bunch of gobbledegook.

With only 480MB allocated for ReadyBoost, you will not see much of a
performance gain. The recommended amount for RB is 1 to 3 times the amount
of installed RAM. If you have 1GB or more of RAM on the system, you also
won't see much of a performance gain. This all depends on how you use the
computer.

More information.

Go to Start and type: reliability you should see the Reliability and
Performance Monitor at the top, left. Click this shortcut to open the
utility. When it opens, maximize the window and expand the Disk section.
Look for the X:\ReadyBoost.sfccache and select it. (Where X: is the drive
where the USB stick is inserted.)

Look for Reads and Writes to that disk.
