I have both Access 2000 and Access 97 installed

I want to give my Access 97 database files the extension .ac97 and make them
open with the 97 version of MsAccess.exe.

I have tried using OpenWith.
It allows me to browse to the appropriate .exe file but on selecting it the
file I am returned to the Open Wiuth Dialogue pointing at the Access 2000
icon and if selected Windows does indeed atempt to run the database file
with the 2000 version.

I guess I need to be able to register BOTH the 97 and 2000 versions of the
MsAccess.exe file(s!)

I don't see how to do this.

They're both registered when properly installed. The last version that was
opened is saved in;
HKCR\Access.Application\CurVer\

Thanks for the reply Dave:
They both installed Ok without complaint - however - will run the instal
again to see if I can entice both to appear as options in the open with
diakigue

That isn't going to happen. In order to switch you'll need to open the
desired application, then MDB
