I recently added another hard drive and transferred many
programs to this other hard drive. When I try to use
the "open with" option for the files associated with
those programs I can browse for the .exe and open it but
it isn't added to the list of programs. If someone could
help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Generally, you can move data files and folders without any problem, but programs are different. When you install a program, entries are placed in the registry and other locations that point to the program in it's installed location and when you simply move the programs folder, these pointers are not automatically changed. This effectively breaks the program.

There are third party utilities that can automatically change these pointers when you use them to move a program. One is called COA2 and it is available from PCMag. There is a nominal cost to download the program.
