I have the following weird problem. Sometimes I would like to use the
emacs editor to open .txt files. I right click on the file, click on
choose program, browse, find emacs, and the file opens in emacs, but I
am unable to put emacs on the "open with" list. I even tried to add it
manually to the relevant registry key, but that did not work. Emacs
does not even stay on the "choose program" list, I have to use
"browse" to find it every time. I thought that if you ever used any
program to open any file, it would stay on this list, but emacs does
not. Is there some place in the registry where the "choose program"
list is stored so that I could try adding emacs to it? This problem
only happens with emacs, and it only started a few days ago. I am able
to set emacs to be the default program to open .txt files, but this is
not I want, I would just like emacs to show up in the "open with"
list.
Can anyone help?
