Open with menu - delete item - Help Please

I've just noticed that when I right click on a file in Explorer, under the "open with" menu, I now have javaw entry. Anyway of deleteing this entry so it doesnt come up? Seems to have poped up in a lot of file types all of a suddem

Not! I know how to change the default file association no problem, the "type" that will show in the explorer window, thats not a problem. Its the "open with" i want to edit. If i right click on a file, i get the open, play etc, and the open with menu that expands out. For example, .rar files - winrar archive. If i right click, i get open, winrar which opens to another submenu full of winrar commands, and i get open with, which expands to another menu, which consists of winrar, javaw, flashfxp. Under the .rar file type, its obvious where to edit the default open file type. There is nowhere any mention of javaw, or flashfxp. No way my .rar files should be associated with flashfxp, nor this javaw program. So how do i get rid of these unwanted file associations under the OPEN WITH menu. Understand now

EXCELLANT!!! You the man. Many thanks. I'm very fussy about my setup, and this was enough of an annoyance to make me do an re-install. Works like a charm

One more question if I may. I installed Nero, and it set alot of my media files to default to Nero Showtime. Not a biggie, I just changed the file associations back to what I wanted. BUT.... in Tools/Folder/Options/File Types, it will have for xample beside .avi files the change or restore option (which will restore it to Nero). If i click restore, I know have the advanced option. I i pick change, and set to windows media, it just goes back to the change and restore option, I want the advanced option back for windows media type. Any ideas.. besides uninstalling Nero that is :

Sorry one more related to your fix. I just installed RealPlayer, and the very first time I selected open with, the javaw entry comes up. It seems that this javaw is automatically set in the open with menu with any new file tyoes i set up now. Probably has been ever since i installed the java program. Any way of stopping it from coming up in the open with menu automatiaclly?
 
I understood from the beginning......removing the association from File
Types, removes it from here:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileEx

Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications
Select or add the associated sub-key, and 'NoOpenWith'.
