*open with* asks me every time

I had WMP10 set as my default player for music files stored on my hard
drive.Some in mp3,some in windows media format.When i attemp to play them,I
am asked every time what programme do I want to open them with.i select wmp
and they play. I ticked the box to 'always use this programme to open this
type of file'.this happen's every time I attemp to play them. In folder
options it tells me that these files are associated with WMP and yet I am
asked every time.I upgraded to WMP11 and am still having this annoying problem
 
Thanks for the link,byte. I have selected all in the box refered to in the
article.still the same problem.Also in *set programme access and defaults* I
have selected wmp but still have the same problem
 
thanks again,byte.I have sorted the problem by using system restore and
starting again with wmp10.your help is much appreciated.keep up the good work
